I've been creating a ton of commission work.  (ok, most of it's titanium rings, so of course it's not really a ton.  think figuratively, folks.)  I love doing it, and it's also overwhelming at times - which is where I've been, and why you've not heard from me.

Since you're now hearing from me, you can (rightly) assume I'm getting caught up.  I still have a lot of commissioned projects in the works, but most of the rest are the more complicated pieces.   I think both you and I will be excited to see them when they're finished.

Occasionally, I need to get people images of some of my past pieces, so we can work on ideas to create new pieces.  As I've been putting those emails together, I've realized that might be a nice thing to include here. For the moment, I'm linking to my newly created Picasa web album.  (Both you and I may find this link annoying.  Better solutions are to be had, I believe, but bear with me for a bit.)

First out was an engagement ring I did for a couple in Louisville Kentucky, in 2007.  This is still one of my favorites.

This is a titanium ring, with a matte finish.  I don't do matte rings often… as i said to her:  "I worry a bit more about a matte finish. It's not as durable as the other things I do.  I usually don't do "finishes", I do "textures" - because that lasts.  Both a smooth/polished finish and a matte finish are just asking to show scratches.  So, I moved my work to textures that seem to work with life more.  Of course - I'm a heathen who tends to beat up whatever I'm wearing.  All of that said - I've also made a decent number of polished or matte rings for those who aren't as much of a heathen as I."

Okay.  There's lots to do tomorrow.  Including rings.  I suppose it's time for sleep.
